From Detroit Roots to Houston Plates

Via 313 was born out of a deep love for authentic Detroit-style pizza — that thick, airy, cheese-edged square that defines comfort food in the 313 area code. Co-founders Brandon and Zane Hunt grew up eating this iconic pie and set out to bring the real thing to Texas.

What started as a humble trailer operation in Austin quickly became a cult favorite. The via 313 pizza method — a proprietary dough recipe, Wisconsin brick cheese, and signature Detroit-style sauce-on-top construction — won over Texans who had never tasted anything like it. Today, via313 serves Houston and beyond from our flagship location at 10201 Katy Fwy.

    The Trailer Begins

    Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt launch Via 313 as a food trailer in Austin, TX, serving authentic Detroit-style square pizza. Lines form immediately — Austinites had never tasted anything like it.

    Cult Following & Awards

    Via 313 earns citywide acclaim in Austin. Named one of the best pizza spots in Texas by multiple publications. The via313 buzz spreads beyond the capital.

  • 2016

    First Brick-and-Mortar

    Growing demand leads to the opening of Via 313's first permanent restaurant location in Austin. The full menu expands with new specialty pies and sides crafted from the original recipes.

    Houston Expansion

    Via 313 brings the Detroit-style pizza tradition to Houston, TX. The new market embraces the via 313 pizza experience, and the brand quickly becomes a Houston favorite.

  • 2022

    Multi-Location Growth

    Via 313 expands to five Texas locations. Franchise opportunities launch, bringing the via313 brand model to new markets with the same commitment to quality that started it all.
